Web 2.0 Reflection
What were your favorite discovers or exercises on this learning journey?
I would have to say my favorite was learning how to develop a Wiki site. It was very frustrating in the beginning of the project due to I could not connect one page to another. This was my fault because I labeled my Page wrong. With my wrong doing of this assignment, I was able to navigate more around the site to figure how to troubleshoot. There were many other activities that I enjoyed and had conversation about with my friends. I feel that all of the exercises allowed me to jump into the “New” communication fast lane.
How has this course assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals?
As a young educator I feel that this class has brought me up to speed with connecting my teaching in my classroom to the home. Parents will be able to address issues of homework, projects, and grades in a faster more efficient way. I believe efficiency is what I got from this class the most. I developed how to use the web as an efficient tool, not just entertainment.
Were there any take-aways or unexpected outcomes from this course that surprised you?
The most challenging item of this class was understanding “new” data of the internet without face to face dialog. I was caught sometimes reading items 2-3 times over because I couldn’t figure something out. The answer to this problem was changing computers at home to allow programs to work. I had trouble throughout this course with the ANGEL program and my computer.
What could we do differently to improve upon this course’s format or concept?
I don’t really have much to say about the improvement of the class. I was really into the class because of the technology and how to use the internet more efficiently.
If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you chose to participate?
I believe that I would like to take another course of this type due to my limitation of blog’s, Wiki, and other new internet information that is out there. This class has allowed me to open up doors of communication with friends, colleagues, and students that I never knew how to do before.
